April is the National Financial Literacy month, and I want to acknowledge the importance of good financial health. Good financial health is not only an important factor in purchasing and maintaining a home, but it also plays a role in the health and enjoyment of your overall life. No, money is not the source of real joy and peace, but it does “answer all things” (Ecclesiastes 10:19 of the Bible).

As much as I enjoy driving around and viewing the inside of beautiful homes – especially a home of my dreams – the best time to actively house hunt with an agent is after you have spoken with a lender (unless you’re paying for a house with all cash). That lender will take the financial information you give them and tell you the best loan options available for your situation.
